Secretary of  State, Hillary Clinton condemns WikiLeaks. Wikileaks ‘s recent release of  documents seems a unexpected threat for  US diplomatic cables which, offer among other things, unflattering and candid assessments of world leaders who has deeply angered American officials.

Secretary of  State Hillary Clinton made a statement about Wikileaks’  that their actions undermined US foreign policy efforts and amounted to “an attack on the international community, the alliances and partnerships, the conventions and negotiations that safeguard global security and advance economic prosperity”.

New York Congressman Pete King has called for the US Attorney General to designate Wikileaks a terrorist organization and to prosecute founder Julian Assange for espionage.

In her first public engagement Mrs Clinton moved to attack Wikileaks, saying the recent release would put at risk the lives of human rights activists and government critics across the world.

“I believe that this was a very irresponsible, thoughtless act that put at risk the lives of innocent people all over the world without much regard for those who are most vulnerable,” she told a meeting of non-government organizations, gathered in the Kazakh capital on Tuesday night.

“I particularly worry about the human rights activists, the religious leaders, the critics of governments, who speak to members of our embassies about abuses in their own country, whose name may be hidden in a reporting cable or may be identifiable because the description of the person.”

Mrs Clinton now faces two days of diplomatic embarrassment.

The secretary treasurer, Tracey A. Thompson, of  Teamsters Local 117, which reports 5,800 doc employees at 13 prisons, said she’s concerned that the closure of  McNeil Island will leave the doc without enough bed space for inmates at all.

The prison remain close in April and the state will save about $14 million through the end of 2013, according to budget analysts.

“If they fully close McNeil Island, that’s hundreds and hundreds of beds that we’re going to lose,” she said. “As we’re going through other cuts, where they are cutting inmate programs, we’re concerned about recidivism rates.”

Here at National Public Radio, The journalist Juan Williams fires from NPR only due to his fear free truth. He was commenting about Muslims as a true journalist, writer and a  news analyst without any hesitation.

Williams says he was fired “for telling the truth.”

“Now that I no longer work for NPR let me give you my opinion,” he said in a piece for Fox, which offered him a new contract after NPR dumped him. “This is an outrageous violation of  journalistic standards and ethics by management that has no use for a diversity of opinion, ideas or a diversity of staff (I was the only black male on the air). This is evidence of one-party rule and one-sided thinking at NPR that leads to enforced ideology, speech and writing.

The overwhelming majority are angry, furious, outraged. They want NPR to hire him back immediately. If  NPR doesn’t, they want all public funding of public radio to stop. They promise to never donate again. They are as mad as hell, and want everyone to know it.  It was daunting to answer the phone and hear so much unrestrained anger.

More than 100 people may have been injured and two killed when a massive explosion was take place at Middletown, which homeowners more than 10 miles away mistook for an earthquake, blew up a power plant being built on the Connecticut River in the southern section of Middletown at about 11 a.m. Sunday.
Medical rescue personnel said four of the 100 were injured, four critically, and two were dead at the site of the Kleen Energy Systems plant on River Road.

“There are bodies everywhere,” a witness said. Another witness said many victims may be buried in rubble.

Middletown deputy fire marshal Al Santostefano said at 1:15 p.m. there were “confirmed fatalities” but that he did not know who many. He said there were at least 50 construction workers on the site.

Dozens of ambulances and two medevac helicopters responded to the scene in the town of  Middletown, about 150 kilometres north-east of New York City. An estimated 100 firefighters had brought the flames under control by 1:30 pm, the Hartford Courant reported. Medical rescue personnel told the Courant that at least four of the 100 in the plant were critically injured, another four were injured, in addition to the two dead at the Kleen Energy Systems plant. The company could not be reached for comment. Middletown deputy fire marshal Al Santostefano told the Courant it was “possible that there might be people trapped in the rubble.” Rescue crews were “in search and rescue mode” by 1 pm Sunday and were trying to see “if there are any survivors.”"There are bodies everywhere,” a witness was quoted as saying. “A lot of people buy their tickets in Africa with cash,” Brennan said. “People in Amsterdam airport didn’t know he bought ticket for cash.”

Merhige allegedly killed his sisters, Carla Merhige and Lisa Knight, both 33 and both Miami residents, and two other family members, Raymonde Joseph, 76, and 6-year-old Makayla Sitton. Two relatives were wounded.

The Herald cited court records showing a troubled relationship between the suspect and one of his slain sisters.

The capture of Paul Michael Merhige took place on a day when his image blanketed South Florida and the nation.

Jupiter Police Chief Frank Kitzerow reiterated that this capture was certainly a team effort.

The efforts began that Thanksgiving night and continued right until the moment Merhige was captured.

The Jupiter Thanksgiving Day tragedy was the focus, the lead story, of Saturday night’s America’s Most Wanted show on FOX.

“I’ve been doing this program for more than 20 years and in all that time, few stories have made me as angry or sad as our first case tonight,” says America’s Most Wanted host John Walsh in the Saturday night coverage.

Walsh and team, once again, introduced to the nation the story of Makayla Sitton, 6.

The show explained her parents love and what happened inside her home that horrible night.

America’s Most Wanted took the nation through the case. It highlighted the tireless work of detectives. It featured analysis from a forensic psychiatrist and over and over, aired images of the accused killer.

Hours before the show, friends of the Sitton family and complete strangers distributed thousands of flyers from St. Lucie County to Miami-Dade.

“Yeah, you can leave some flyers on my counter too, right there in the front,” said one businessman.

Local companies donated the thousands of flyers that were handed out to people on the street, in their cars, and at businesses. There were so many hands working together to find one man.

“Somebody knows where this guy is,” says Walsh.

“Whenever you’re at Burger King or McDonald’s, look at the person in front of you, look at the person behind you and look around, and be aware and if you see something, make that call… because otherwise we can’t begin the healing process,” says Jim Sitton.

The call came from behind a counter: the counter at the Edgewater Lodge in Long Key.

Sitton says the capture certainly closes one chapter.

Federal agents along with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office arrested Merhige late Saturday night at the Edgewater Lodge.

Merhige was taken to the Jupiter Police Department, arriving around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

He arrived at the Palm Beach County Jail and is expected to have his first appearance in court Sunday morning.

WPTV employee Jim Sitton called NewsChannel 5 around 10:35 p.m. with news that the man accused of killing his 6-year-old daughter, Makayla, and three other members of his family was in custody.

A nationwide manhunt for Merhige has been underway since the night of the shootings.

Merhige has been the subject of a massive manhunt that included a $100,000 reward for information leading to his capture. He is accused of killing his twin sisters, 79-year-old aunt and 6-year-old cousin on Thanksgiving Day at a family gathering in Jupiter, Florida.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, a tipster at the Edgewater Lodge, believed to be an employee, saw a televised preview for America’s Most Wanted program and recognized Merhige’s photo as being one of the guests at the lodge. A blue Toyota Camry parked in the lot of the lodge also matched the vehicle owned by Merhige. The Marshals Service says the vehicle had a different license plate, registered to a 1991 Lexus the suspect previously owned.

Deputy Marshals located Merhige in unit #14, on the second floor of the lodge, and made a “quick and powerful entry” into the unit, taking Merhige into custody.
