Why American Use To Threat Other Countries Like Korea, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan.
Not only the Americans but also all the other countries want to live with peace and freedom without any threat and fear of super power.

On Wednesday, The Iranian leader was referring to Obama’s speech to the U.N. General Assembly, where Obama called for international unity in attacking the world’s challenges.

With the full knowledge and approval of our government, American predators and ground forces strike wherever they like and kill innocent men, women and children in our tribal territory. With the targets now spreading, an expanding US role inside Pakistan may be more than anyone can stomach. The anger level in the country is reaching a dangerous level.

“The single greatest threat to Pakistan”, Obama said recently, “comes from Al Qaeda and their extremists allies”. This is not true. All our major problems, including terrorism, stem from the American invasion and occupation of Afghanistan. It has turned our tribal area into a protracted ulcer, a quagmire – a place where Pakistan is spending blood and treasure to protect American interests.

Evan Bayh have to retired due to political issues or he is in democratic retirement wave which has been limited mostly to the House where more Republicans have actually announced retirements. May be Evan Bayh’s retirement follows exit announcements by Indiana Sens. Other political figures are Byron Dorgan and Chris Dodd .
It makes the race or Bayh’s seat more competitive.
Bayh’s departure may continues a recent exodus from Congress among both Democrats and Republicans, including veteran Democrats Christopher Dodd of Connecticut and Patrick Kennedy of Mass. The announcements have sprung up in rapid-fire fashion amid polls showing a rising anti-incumbent fervor and voter anger over Washington partisanship, high unemployment, federal deficits and lucrative banking industry bonuses.
Bayh’s seat has been rated as “lean Democratic” by the Cook Political Report, and Democrats had succeeded in launching a relentless attack on former Sen. Dan Coats since he entered his name into race against Bayh. Bayh had led both Coats and fellow challenger John Hostettler who was a former congressman by double digits, Coats by 20 points and Hostettler by 16 points in recent polls.

Bayh had nearly $13 million in campaign cash and was in good shape for the 2010 race.

With a Democratic exit relatively late in the cycle, it will give Coats and Hostettler a better chance at taking the Senate seat than they had yesterday. Democrats will now have to field a new candidate, and Indiana gets added to the list of states where Democrats risk losing seats in 2010, along with Delaware, Nevada, North Dakota, Arkansas, and Pennsylvania. Colorado also looks vulnerable. It’s possible that Sen. Blanche Lincoln, who looks quite vulnerable, will follow suit. It’s also reasonable that Sen. Joe Lieberman might decide to caucus with Republicans; if those seats are lost, Democrats would see their Senate majority shrink to a very thin margin after 2010. It is Bayh’s name was among a handful of well-known Democrats prominently mentioned as possible vice presidential candidates in both Sen. John Kerry’s 2004 run for the presidency and President Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign for the White House. He was believed to have been on Obama’s final list. Obama settled on then-Sen. Joseph Biden of Delaware.

More than 100 people may have been injured and two killed when a massive explosion was take place at Middletown, which homeowners more than 10 miles away mistook for an earthquake, blew up a power plant being built on the Connecticut River in the southern section of Middletown at about 11 a.m. Sunday.
Medical rescue personnel said four of the 100 were injured, four critically, and two were dead at the site of the Kleen Energy Systems plant on River Road.

“There are bodies everywhere,” a witness said. Another witness said many victims may be buried in rubble.

Middletown deputy fire marshal Al Santostefano said at 1:15 p.m. there were “confirmed fatalities” but that he did not know who many. He said there were at least 50 construction workers on the site.

Witnesses and authorities said as many as 100 people may have been injured and two killed when a massive explosion, which homeowners more than 10 miles away mistook for an earthquake, blew up a power plant being built on the Connecticut River in the southern section of Middletown at about 11 a.m. Sunday.

Dozens of ambulances and two medevac helicopters responded to the scene in the town of Middletown, about 150 kilometres north-east of New York City. An estimated 100 firefighters had brought the flames under control by 1:30 pm, the Hartford Courant reported. Medical rescue personnel told the Courant that at least four of the 100 in the plant were critically injured, another four were injured, in addition to the two dead at the Kleen Energy Systems plant. The company could not be reached for comment. Middletown deputy fire marshal Al Santostefano told the Courant it was “possible that there might be people trapped in the rubble.” Rescue crews were “in search and rescue mode” by 1 pm Sunday and were trying to see “if there are any survivors.”"There are bodies everywhere,” a witness was quoted as saying. The local television station WQAD said that the blast was so powerful that people felt it 20 kilometres away, many thinking that an earthquake had struck.

John Brennan, the assistant to the president for homeland security and counter-terrorism, said on CNN’s “State of the Union” that the security breakdown in the failed bombing of the Northwest Airlines flight was different than the September 11, 2001, terror attacks.

“It’s not like 9/11,” Brennan said, adding that the “system didn’t work as it should have” due to “lapses” and “human error.”

“There wasn’t an effort to try to conceal information,” he said in reference to the well-chronicled competition and turf wars between security agencies prior to the 2001 attacks that was later blamed for the failure to prevent them.

“There is no smoking gun piece of intelligence out there,” Brennan said of the failed Christmas bombing, allegedly by a Nigerian man who boarded the flight from Amsterdam, Netherlands, to Detroit, Michigan with explosives in his underwear.

The suspect’s father, a leading banker in Nigeria, warned U.S. authorities before the attack that his son might be involved with Islamic extremists.

Brennan said the father’s information was part of “bits and pieces” of information that were never connected by intelligence officials to properly target the suspect.

“That was certainly an alert that came to our attention,” Brennan said of the father’s warnings. “He said, ‘He’s consorting with extremists in Yemen.’”

However, Brennan rejected another potential warning sign – that the suspect purchased the airline ticket with cash in Ghana before traveling to Nigeria for the first leg of his journey.

“A lot of people buy their tickets in Africa with cash,” Brennan said. “People in Amsterdam airport didn’t know he bought ticket for cash.”

A man, the beast, accused of fatally shooting four family members during Thanksgiving dinner in South Florida was arrested late Saturday at a motel in the Keys at last.
According to Police they got a telephone tip that Paul Merhige was at Edge Water Lodge Motel on Long Key a few minutes after the Fox show “America’s Most Wanted” aired a segment on the case, The Miami Herald reported. The caller said a man who looked like Merhige had been at the motel since Dec. 2 and was using the name Joseph Baco.

Merhige allegedly killed his sisters, Carla Merhige and Lisa Knight, both 33 and both Miami residents, and two other family members, Raymonde Joseph, 76, and 6-year-old Makayla Sitton. Two relatives were wounded.

The Herald cited court records showing a troubled relationship between the suspect and one of his slain sisters.

The capture of Paul Michael Merhige took place on a day when his image blanketed South Florida and the nation.

Jupiter Police Chief Frank Kitzerow reiterated that this capture was certainly a team effort.

The efforts began that Thanksgiving night and continued right until the moment Merhige was captured.

The Jupiter Thanksgiving Day tragedy was the focus, the lead story, of Saturday night’s America’s Most Wanted show on FOX.

“I’ve been doing this program for more than 20 years and in all that time, few stories have made me as angry or sad as our first case tonight,” says America’s Most Wanted host John Walsh in the Saturday night coverage.

Walsh and team, once again, introduced to the nation the story of Makayla Sitton, 6.

The show explained her parents love and what happened inside her home that horrible night.

America’s Most Wanted took the nation through the case. It highlighted the tireless work of detectives. It featured analysis from a forensic psychiatrist and over and over, aired images of the accused killer.

Hours before the show, friends of the Sitton family and complete strangers distributed thousands of flyers from St. Lucie County to Miami-Dade.

“Yeah, you can leave some flyers on my counter too, right there in the front,” said one businessman.

Local companies donated the thousands of flyers that were handed out to people on the street, in their cars, and at businesses. There were so many hands working together to find one man.

“Somebody knows where this guy is,” says Walsh.

“Whenever you’re at Burger King or McDonald’s, look at the person in front of you, look at the person behind you and look around, and be aware and if you see something, make that call… because otherwise we can’t begin the healing process,” says Jim Sitton.

The call came from behind a counter: the counter at the Edgewater Lodge in Long Key.

Sitton says the capture certainly closes one chapter.

Federal agents along with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office arrested Merhige late Saturday night at the Edgewater Lodge.

Merhige was taken to the Jupiter Police Department, arriving around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

He arrived at the Palm Beach County Jail and is expected to have his first appearance in court Sunday morning.

WPTV employee Jim Sitton called NewsChannel 5 around 10:35 p.m. with news that the man accused of killing his 6-year-old daughter, Makayla, and three other members of his family was in custody.

A nationwide manhunt for Merhige has been underway since the night of the shootings.

Merhige has been the subject of a massive manhunt that included a $100,000 reward for information leading to his capture. He is accused of killing his twin sisters, 79-year-old aunt and 6-year-old cousin on Thanksgiving Day at a family gathering in Jupiter, Florida.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, a tipster at the Edgewater Lodge, believed to be an employee, saw a televised preview for America’s Most Wanted program and recognized Merhige’s photo as being one of the guests at the lodge. A blue Toyota Camry parked in the lot of the lodge also matched the vehicle owned by Merhige. The Marshals Service says the vehicle had a different license plate, registered to a 1991 Lexus the suspect previously owned.

Deputy Marshals located Merhige in unit #14, on the second floor of the lodge, and made a “quick and powerful entry” into the unit, taking Merhige into custody.

The initial impression is that the suspect was acting alone in the incident, which set off a major security alert, and did not have any formal connections to organised terrorist groups, CNN said citing a senior official who is familiar with the investigations.

Senator Nelson: We will support the health care reform bill in the Senate.

In a press conference explaining his decision, Nelson noted that he had successfully fought off efforts to include a public option as well as the inclusion of language limiting the availability of abortions. Nelson also warned that if in conference with the House the bill is ‘materially changed’ from what he agreed to he reserves the right to withdraw his support and vote against cloture the next time around.

The House of Representatives approved similar curbs on its way to passing its own version of the legislation, but abortion-rights Democrats have vowed to strip them when the two chambers craft a final bill for Obama to sign.

“I know these limits on abortion are hard for some people to accept, and I respect those who disagree, but I would not have voted for this bill without them,” the senator said in a statement.

Nelson’s backing allowed Democrats to breathe a sign of relief ahead of a make-or-break 1 am (0600 GMT) Monday vote to end debate on Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s newly unveiled compromise health bill.

A tentative Democratic timeline calls for key procedural votes around 7 am (1200 GMT) Tuesday and 1 pm (1800 GMT) Wednesday, with a final passage ballot at 7 pm Thursday (0001 GMT Friday) — Christmas Eve.

If the Senate approves the bill, it would still need to reconcile stark differences with a House of Representatives plan in order to pass a final measure before Obama’s State of the Union speech in January or early February.

“Let’s bring this long and vigorous debate to an end. Let’s deliver on the promise of health insurance reforms that will make our people healthier, our economy stronger and our future more secure,” the president said in his weekly radio address.

Reid’s measure strips out a government-backed “public option” plan to compete with private insurers, but would extend coverage to 31 million of the 36 million Americans who currently lack it, Democrats say.

It would forbid insurers from denying coverage because of pre-existing medical conditions, and provide subsidies to low-income Americans.

Obama’s Republican foes have sharply criticized Reid for only making the bill public Saturday and then pushing ahead with an accelerated schedule in order to meet a self-imposed Christmas deadline.

And Republicans made good on pledges to delay the bill at all costs — forcing the Senate clerk to read the measure aloud, a process expected to take most of Saturday.

“We will do everything in our power to stop it,” vowed Republican Senator John Cornyn.

As a severe snowstorm pounded the US capital, Democrats took steps to ensure that they could call upon all 58 of their senators and the two independents who often side with them to prevail in the coming votes.

The United States is the world’s richest nation but the only industrialized democracy that does not provide health care coverage to all of its citizens, about 36 million of whom are uninsured.

WISE is a Medium Explorer (MIDEX) satellite, forming part of the Explorer programme. If it reaches orbit it will be designated Explorer 92. The first Explorer satellite, Explorer 1, was launched on a Juno I rocket on 1 February 1958, and became the first US satellite to successfully reach orbit. To date, 89 Explorer satellites have reached orbit, with several more lost in launch failures. Initially Explorer designations were given to all satellites regardless of launch outcomes; however since 1959 the designations have only been given to satellites that reached orbit.

The target orbit for the WISE launch is one with a semi-major axis of 6,912 kilometres (3,732 nautical miles), eccentricity of 0.00133, and 97.5 degrees of inclination; a retrograde low Earth orbit with approximately 530 kilometres altitude.

Delta 347 is a Delta II rocket which uses the 7320-10C configuration. At launch, its first stage will be augmented by three GEM-40 graphite-epoxy motors – small solid boosters used to provide additional thrust during the first minute of flight.

The 7320-10C is a two-stage configuration, with an Extra-Extended Long Tank Thor (XLTT) first stage, and a Delta-K second stage. A 3 metre (10 foot) composite payload fairing will encapsulate the spacecraft.

The Delta II entered service in 1989, and is one of the most reliable rockets currently in service; having made 146 flights to date with only one failure and one partial failure. After Delta 347, another four Delta II flights are currently planned before the rocket is retired from service, however it is believed that additional rockets are available should further launch contracts be signed.

Today’s launch will be the thirty-seventh to be conducted by United Launch Alliance, which was formed in 2006 to supply orbital launch services to the United States government. If the launch occurs today, it will be on the third anniversary of ULA’s first launch, which was conducted using a Delta II 7920-10C flying from the same launch complex. That launch, designated NRO L-21, placed the USA-193 satellite into orbit; a spacecraft which malfunctioned immediately after launch and was destroyed in 2008 by a modified SM-3 missile.

The RS-27A main engine of the first stage, which burns RP-1 propellant oxidised with liquid oxygen, will ignite about two seconds before launch. At liftoff, the solid rocket motors will ignite as well, and Delta 347 will begin its ascent. It will fly downrange along an azimuth of 196 degrees from Vandenberg, passing through Mach 1, the speed of sound, 35.7 seconds into the flight. Fifty seconds after launch, it will pass Max-Q, the point at which the vehicle will experience maximum dynamic pressure.

Sixty four seconds after launch, the solid rocket motors will burn out. They will remain attached for a further thirty five seconds in order to clear oil rigs off the coast of California in the interests of range safety. One hundred seconds into the flight, a dog-leg manoeuvre to adjust the rocket’s trajectory will commence, lasting forty seconds. Just over two hundred and sixty two seconds after lifting off, the first stage will cut off, an event known as MECO.

Eight seconds after MECO, the first stage will be jettisoned, and the second stage’s AJ-10 engine will ignite after a further five and a half seconds, burning hypergolic Aerozine-50 propellant with dinitrogen tetroxide oxidiser. Two hundred and ninety seconds after launch, the payload fairing will separate from around the spacecraft. Six hundred and twenty two seconds into the flight, and following a burn lasting about five minutes and forty five seconds, the second stage will shut down having completed its first burn.

With the first burn complete, Delta 347 will begin a coast phase, during which time it will reorient itself to provide better thermal conditions. The coast will last until 51 minutes and 40 seconds into the flight, at which time restart will occur, beginning the second stage’s second burn. This burn will last eight and a half seconds, and will be followed by the upper stage manoeuvring to the correct attitude for spacecraft separation.

Fifty five minutes and twenty seconds after launch, the spacecraft will separate from Delta 347. The separation will be observed by an Ecliptic Enterprises RocketCam camera mounted on the upper stage. Following separation, Delta 347 will perform additional manoeuvres to raise its orbit, in order to mitigate debris in low Earth orbit.

Delta 347 will launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base’s Space Launch Complex 2W (SLC-2W), which was originally built for tests of Thor IRBM during the late 1950s and early 1960s. Originally designated LC-75-1-2, the first launch from the complex was conducted by the Royal Air Force in 1959, using a Thor missile. The Delta II has used the complex since 1995.

This is the seventh Delta II launch to occur this year; the last time the rocket is expected to achieve such a high flight rate. It is also the twenty-fourth and last American orbital launch attempt of the year. Only one Delta II launch is scheduled for 2010, which will be of a 7940 configuration, and will carry the Italian COSMO-4 satellite.

The next scheduled ULA launch is of an Atlas V with the Solar Dynamics Observatory, which is currently planned for 3 February. The day before, the SpaceX Falcon 9 is slated to make its maiden flight in what is currently scheduled to be the first US orbital launch attempt of the year.

Though the steps may expedite the selling and renting of apartments, they’re also meant to satisfy residents’ demand for quieter living spaces.

“In today’s market, this basic issue has become more important than ever,” said Colin Carpenter, a project manager for 37 Bridge Street, a condominium in <a title="Find Real Estate listings and community news for Brooklyn Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighborhood.

Developed by Baruch Singer, a landlord based on the Lower East Side, the nearly $30 million undertaking will create 45 one- to three-bedroom units as well as town houses in a pair of adjacent red-brick factories, one of which was once owned by the Kirkman soap company.

Although the surrounding blocks retain an industrial flavor — a train track still cuts through paving stones into No. 37’s wide bay — the area is silent at night.

Of greater concern to Mr. Carpenter is sound from other apartments.
