Mayor Larry Langford

Mayor Larry Langford was known as a successful man during his region but at the end here is a long and hard punishment of 15 years for him for his sentencing which handed down to him Friday morning for taking about $235,000 in bribes.

Larry Langford was accused of accepting about $235,000 in bribes in the form of clothing and cash from investment banker Bill Blount through the middleman Al La Pierre but the defense claimed they were personal gifts and loans from friends and did not influence Langford’s decision on the bond work.

It was announced by the U.S. District Judge Scott Coogler who imposed the sentence on Langford, 63, who told the court, “I am sorry all this has occurred.”
